Jan Kral, M.D., Ph.D., MSc., MBA
Jan Král graduated from the 3rd Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in 2012 and began his medical career at the Department of Hepatogastroenterology at IKEM. Since 2014, he has also worked at the Department of Molecular Genetics of Tumors at the Institute of Clinical and Experimental Medicine, Czech Academy of Sciences. In 2020, he completed his Ph.D.
on colorectal cancer screening and the role of microRNAs, followed by an MBA in Healthcare Management. He currently serves as Head of the Metabolic Endoscopy Unit at the Department of Internal Medicine, 2nd Faculty of Medicine, Charles University and Motol University Hospital, focusing 3rd space endoscopy and on obesity and metabolic disorders. He has gained international experience at leading institutions including the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, the Cleveland Clinic, Mayo Clinic, Harvard Medical School and Erasme Hospital in Belgium. Active member of the ESGE Social Media Working Group since 2024, he is particularly interested in new technologies, artificial intelligence and 3D printing.
